About

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the Florida State University with a focus on web-scale data science, analytics, and machine learning. I’m fortunate to be advised by Prof. Michael Gubanov at BigLab! Prior to joining in FSU, I obtained my bachelor degree from Institute of Engineering, Thapathali Campus at Tribhuvan University and gained valuable industry experience for nearly three years.

Resreach

I’m interested in NLP, embeddings, deep learning, generative AI, and Large Language Models. My current research focus on developing deep learning embedding models for machine understanding of tables with complex structured and numerical data. My work aims to improve table search, similarity matching, and structured data fusion by designing representations that better capture numerical values, units, and attribute semantics in tabular data. I have published research in esteemed conferences like Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), ACM Special Interest Group on Management of Data (SIGMOD), International Conference on Extending Database Technology (EDBT), and IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE).

• March 2026: Our demo paper LLM-based Information Extraction for Documents with AI-based Plan Selection was accepted by ACM SIGMOD 2026.
• Feb 2026: Our research paper CONE: Embeddings for Complex Numerical Data Preserving Unit and Variable Semantics was accepted by ACM SIGMOD 2026.
• Sep 2025: Honored to receive the Naaman Franklin Faile Jr. Graduate Fellowship for 2025.
• April 2025: Honored to receive the Outstanding Research Assistant Award for 2024-2025 from the Computer Science Department, FSU.
• March 2025: Our reserach paper Scalable Tabular Hierarchical Metadata Classification in Heterogeneous Structured Large-scale Datasets using Contrastive Learning was accepted by IEEE ICDE 2025.
• Dec. 2024: Passed Ph.D. Preliminary exam, Embeddings for Complex Structured and Numerical Data with its Application in Data Fusion.
• June 2024: Our reserach paper Tabular Embeddings for Tables with Bi-Dimensional Hierarchical Metadata and Nesting was accepted by EDBT 2025.
• Dec. 2023: Passed Ph.D. Qualifying exam.
